A Unique Safe Space to Grieve
Redefining Life Center for Grief & Healing is a unique safe space for children, teens, adults, and families of color to navigate trauma and grief in the community. The trauma and grief experienced in the black community is very unique, requiring a unique space to grieve and heal. When they arrive at the center, they will know they will not have to go through their unique trauma and grief experiences alone. Support services provided regardless of ability to pay.
Mission
Redefining Life Center for Grief and Healing is a bereavement and healing center for children, teens, adults, and families dealing with death, trauma, and loss. We provide trauma informed and supportive care with consideration of the whole person; understanding how grief and trauma can affect a person's well-being. Through advocacy, education, workshops, and training; community members and professionals will develop a working knowledge to support individuals impacted by trauma and grief, so grievers do not have to grieve alone.

To be the community's resource for trauma and grief support and healing. Creating safe communities by navigating healing the effects of undressed trauma and grief.

Healing Water is a program by African American Breastfeeding Network who noticed the disparity of infant mortality in the black community. This a space is facilitated by Shantell Riley, End-Of-Life Doula and certified grief counselor.

Founder of Fearless Fathers, a grief support group for fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who have lost a child. Thier mission is to offer support and be a forum for men that come from different walks of life but share a common emotion in their grief journey due to the loss of a child.

Journey To Our Center's Own Home
We Need A Permanent Home
Redefining Life Center for Grief and Healing was blessed with our pilot location at The Table allowing us to start programming right away. The need for support in our community is now, not when a building is established. While we are beginning programming, we would like to work concurrently providing programming and services while raising funds to acquire a building of our own! Stay tuned for how you can a part of this journey.
